The 9.3 release was focused on stability and refinement of IS Pro. We've squashed a LOT of bugs, plus addressed a large number of tickets related to refinement of new features in the last few months, and to the platform in general. In addition to that, we're re-introducing search by source as well as additional Survey Navigator filters, and further baking survey templates into the platform (allowing a survey identified as a template to be able to be copied quickly, bringing over resources such as sheets, files, deliverables, translations, etc.).
Major UI improvements
Expanding search filters for Survey Navigator
To assist with finding surveys in the Survey Navigator (Home) screen, we have reimplemented some of the filters previously used in r8. While our primary search field is used to keyword search content in the Survey IDs, Descriptions, Stage, and Status columns, we have also brought back our Date Range filter (defaulting to the Last 30 Days) and the ability to search survey source in our Filters tool.
Pinned surveys, both in the Survey Navigator grid and their survey tiles, are not affected by the date filter and will be included in the grid regardless. If they were last modified beyond the applied date filter, they will be indicated in italics as shown below.
The Filters tool allows you to search survey source content for SPL, general text content, and even apply Regex. It also provides the option to include previously-archived surveys in your search or to only view matching survey templates if you tend to use a lot of templates for creating new surveys.
Simplifying survey template creation
Survey templates have also been reintroduced for IS Pro. After a survey has been created, you can use the Survey Configurations to mark it as a template. Templates are indicated in the Survey Navigator grid with the template icon next to their name.
Once a survey has been marked as a template, you can use it to create new surveys based off its content. Click the new Create from Template button to select a template to build a new survey from, and then edit as needed. Any sheets, files, translations, countries/locales, data cuts, and deliverables associated with the original template will be copied to the new survey as well!
New SPL for template usage
To facilitate the usage of survey templates, we have introduced some new SPL. The internal memo
widget allows you to leave notes for Survey Programmers (SPs) so they can be aware of potential edits needed or how the survey was built.
internal memo: PRODUCT
text: Replace [PRODUCT] with the product for the current project.
You can also apply the HTML tags <mark></mark> to highlight text in IntelliBuilder. These indicate which portions of the template need to be replaced with content specific to the survey.
SPL | IntelliBuilder |
1. <mark>Question 1</mark> type: radio scale: y 1. Very unsatisfied 2. Unsatisfied 3. Neutral 4. Satisfied 5. Very satisfied |
