disp and disp_first

When terminate tags are added to the survey source code, two system variables are created to track termination reasons: disp and disp_first.

disp

• Type: Multi-punch system variable.
• Function: Records all termination points a respondent triggers.
• Location: Found in the reporting field tree under Appendix > Field Management, labeled as disp. Termination reason.
• Reports and data: A Terminations tile on the survey's Fielding Overview applet lists all specified termination reasons.

disp_first

• Type: Single-punch system variable.
• Function: Records only the first termination point a respondent triggers.
• Location: Found immediately after disp in the reports, labeled as disp_first. First Termination Reason.
• Usage: Useful for tracking the initial disqualification point in deferred terminations (e.g., completing all screener questions before exiting).
