The Survey Configuration applet contains various high-level survey settings. To access the Survey Configuration applet, select Configuration from theĀ Settings navigation group.
Overview
Use the Survey Configuration applet to do the following:
- Change the survey's description.
- Change the survey's theme.
- Choose languages for translations and the countries where the survey will be fielded.
- Adjust the survey's max capacity.
- Designate the survey as a template.
Country and languages
Choose the primary country and language for the survey. This sets the default language for system messages and determines the export language for translations (e.g., from English to another language). Then, add any additional countries or choose "World" if a specific country is not required, which defaults to English.
Next, assign translation languages per country. Multiple languages can be selected. For example, The United States can have a primary English language, as well as Spanish, Chinese, and Tagalog.
Selections in Survey Configuration automatically sync with the Translations applet and vice versa. Once saved, additional countries cannot be added, but you can edit or remove languages or delete a country if needed.
Max Capacity
The max capacity is the maximum number of respondents that can actively take the survey at the same time. This is determined by the number of respondents with the 'P - In Progress' status.
Lowering Max Capacity can help manage performance issues for high-traffic surveys.
Respondents who attempt to enter a survey that has reached its max capacity will see the following message:
Thanks for visiting! The survey is currently full. Please check back in a little while.
To customize this message, use the maxcapmessage
tag on the appconfig
widget in the survey source:
appconfig maxcapmessage: Total survey capacity has been met.
Respondents who see this message are assigned the status 'M - Max Cap' and flagged with the system field throttled
. If they return to the survey when it is under max capacity, their status will change to 'P - In Progress', though the throttled
flag will remain.
