Version Notice: This article covers features in our r9/IS Pro platform.
The IntelliSurvey platform has powerful tools and features designed to streamline your data management tasks. Expand the Analyze group in the left navigation menu and click on Data Management to see the various applets available.
Below, you'll find summaries of each of these applets. Click on any of the links to view the full article and learn more.
- The Change Status applet allows for respondent IDs to be changed from one status to another, whether it be a standard status such as 'T' (Terminate) or 'R' (Removed), or custom status for that specific survey. Users with the Maker survey role can access this applet.
- The Expunge Records applet allows for invalid respondents to be set to status 'X' (Expunged) after a review of the respondent's data. These records remain in the dataset, but do not affect your number of Completes or quotas. Makers, Panel Coordinators, Panel Field Managers, and the add-on role Expunge Records can access this applet.
- The Mark as Test applet allows for respondent IDs to be converted to manual test records. These records remain in the dataset, but are not shown in reports or data exports without specific filters. Makers, Fielders, Panel Coordinators, Panel Field Managers, and the add-on role Mark Data as Test can access this applet.
- The Add Data applet is a tool for uploading data directly into a survey's dataset. This is the most versatile of the applets to manipulate data. You can choose to selectively overwrite existing fields or create and populate new fields with data. This can be done for both existing respondents and while adding new ones, and works for both closed-ended and open-ended questions. There is no limit to the amount of fields that can be updated. Only Makers can access this applet.
- The Recalculate Fields applet is a useful tool for recoding existing data when option logic changes or needing to fill previously blank fields. It allows you to alter the data for any variable or quota using
cvalue
orselectby
tags. Multiple questions can be updated at once. Only Makers can access this applet. - The Delete Responses applet allows for respondent IDs and their data to be permanently deleted. Only Makers can access this applet.
- The Advanced Update applet allows for individual responses for single-select, closed-ended questions to be updated. This applet can update one question at a time, and is useful for simple data updates, when all the data needs to be changed to the same value. Only Makers can access this applet.
