The Individual Response report displays field data in a grid format for a specific survey record, providing the greatest level of detail among the reports within the Reports applet group.
To open an Individual Response report, first create a Response report, then double-click on any respondent record.
Overview
- The 'Field' column displays the question or variable ID.
- The 'Description' column displays the question text or report label.
- The 'Value' column displays the data captured for that field.
- Closed-end fields will provide both the option ID and text.
- Once an Individual Response report has been launched, it is possible to navigate to other respondents' individual reports using the Previous and Next buttons.
- To navigate back to the full Response report, click the link in the upper left.
Selecting fields to be displayed
By default, the Individual Response Report displays the fields selected in the Response Report. To show all fields in the survey, change the dropdown menu option from Show Only Filtered Fields to Show All Fields.
Alternatively, you can modify the filters using the menus in the Select Fields section.
Viewing respondent activity
You can view respondent page activity by going to the Actions menu and selecting View Activity. This shows a table with information for every survey page the respondent has viewed, with each row representing a page submission. Below is a description of each column in the table.
Column | Description |
Timestamp | The date and time of the page submission. |
Submit Form |
The previous page that was submitted in order to view the current page. |
Autoprocessed Forms |
Lists any pages that were skipped, either due to skip logic, or the page only containing hidden fields such as quotas. |
Render Form | The page that was seen by the respondent. |
Questions on Page | The survey question(s) that were visible on the page. |
Going Back? | If '1', indicates the survey Back button was used instead of Continue. Using the browser back button will not trigger this flag. |
Error? | If '1', indicates a validation error message was triggered and seen by the respondent. |
Duration (ms) | Time in milliseconds taken to load the page (1000ms = 1 second). |
Elapsed (ms) | Time in milliseconds the respondent spent on the page until the next submission. |
Editing survey data
Caution! Saving is permanent. Once the Save button is clicked, the previous data cannot be recovered. To reset the data to its original state before saving, click Cancel.
Almost all fields can be edited by clicking on the cell, but the editing process varies slightly depending on the field type:
- Single select fields: When you click on a single select field (radio, pulldown, radio slider, etc.), a menu will appear displaying the available options. Select the desired option, then click outside the cell to confirm your choice.
- Multiselect fields: When editing multiselect questions (checkbox, listbox), you can add or remove options. Click anywhere in the cell to open a dropdown menu. Select an option to add it, or type to filter the list.
- Open-end fields: To edit an open-ended response, click in the cell and modify the text as needed. You can also delete the text to save it as "blank."
