Survey version management (r9)

The Versions applet contains a log of all published and draft versions of your survey. This applet allows you to search, review, download, and compare any saved version of your survey.

Overview

• Survey versions are listed in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published version listed in bold font.
• Makers will have the option to view and compare versions in either an SPL view or IntelliBuilder view. Other survey roles with access to IntelliBuilder can only view and compare versions in IntelliBuilder view.
• To view a version, either click the checkbox to its left, then View, or double click the version's row. 
• To compare two versions, check the boxes to their left, then Compare.
• SPL view versions are keyword searchable. To activate the search feature, click Ctrl+F (PC) or ⌘+F (Mac). Additional options can be used in your search, such as matching letter casing or applying RegEx.
• SPL view versions are downloaded as .txt files, while IntelliBuilder view versions are downloaded as IntelliBuilder-compatible .docx (Word) files.

Version management table

The version management table contains details about each version, including who compiled the changes, when they were made, and how the survey was edited. The following details are also included:

• Line Changes: The total number of added, removed, and changed lines. Hover your cursor over the cell to see a breakdown of these details.
• Data Columns: The total number of fields (questions and variables) in the survey version.
• Time to Parse: The time in minutes and seconds the version took to compile (build).
• Survey Forms: The total number of pages in the survey version.
• Visible Questions: The number of respondent-facing questions in the version.
• Comments: When the system compiles a new survey version, a comment is autogenerated for the changes applied at the time. If the version was created with the SPL editor, you can replace this with your own description.
