Version Notice: This article covers features in our r9/IS Pro platform. If you're looking for information on this topic related to r8, see Activity tile.
The Activity tile reports on certain back-end survey events and stores them in a scrollable log. In the Fielding Overview applet, the Activity tile appears as one of the six default tiles on the Metrics tab.
Note: Only Makers have rights to view this tile. For more information on survey roles and rights, review the Roles and rights overview.
Overview
The back-end events logged in the tile fall into three categories:
- Activity (A) - shown in green
- Notification (N) - shown in yellow
- Errors (E) - shown in red.
The log may be filtered by each category by clicking the A, N, or E buttons on the top of the tile.
The following events are some of the most common survey activities reported in the log:
- Survey updates and publishing
- Survey update compilation failures
- Survey stage updates
- Data/respondent deletions
- Panels added via the Panels applet
- Inline translation changes.
Certain types of errors are triggered by respondent activity. Such events are logged as a single notification that includes a parentheses containing a count of the number of times the error occurred, rather than generating a new log entry in the tile for each time the offending code is executed by a different respondent.
The following events are some of the most common notifications and will be reported in the log:
- Xslate errors
- Perl errors
- Panel redirect errors.
In the rare event a red error appears in the log, please reach out to a Support agent via our chatbot or email help@intellisurvey.com to inquire if anything should be investigated or be of concern.
Controls
Three controls can be found in the upper-right corner of the tile. Click the Gear menu to export the tile's events into an Excel file. It will export the tile with the filters on/off, if applicable. Click the Expand button to expand the tile for readability, or click the Close button to remove the tile from your dashboard.
