Themes
Survey appearance is governed by the theme selected when the survey is created, or updated to from the survey configuration. Survey themes can be viewed in the Themes app, accessible from the Home Dashboard. Themes are constructed from a collection of template files which can be found in the survey file manager, in the /theme directory. These files are written in Metakolon and have the .tx file extension. The Xslate template engine then uses these files to create survey web pages.
Editing themes and templates
It is possible to manipulate the display of survey questions, options, and pages by editing template files. While a parent theme cannot be edited from a survey, template files can be browsed to and copied into the local theme directory in the survey Files app. Templates cascade, so locally placed files are used first. For more information about how to edit templates, see Editing themes.
template and template_data tag
Custom templates files can be created to accommodate specialty question types. Such templates can be accessed by a particular question widget on a case-by-case basis by using the template
tag. Additional configuration options can be specified by using the template data
tag.
