The Status tile provides a quick view of the survey respondent statuses, the survey stage, the median LOI (length of interview), the incidence rate, and the "Dev" and "Pub" version numbers. The tile appears on the Survey Dashboard and HOME page in the Dashboard, Summary Tiles view.
On the Survey Dashboard
If you are on your Survey Dashboard, the Status tile appears on the dashboard as one of the six default tiles.
Counts are displayed in each bar on the graph. A tooltip appears with additional information when the cursor is placed over a bar in the chart. In the image below, we can see there are 643 respondents out of 1028 total respondents that are considered "Terminated," which is 62.5% of the total entries.
The following items are displayed on the Status tile.
Statuses
Every respondent in a survey data set has a status. The Status tile always includes "Completed," "Over Quota," "Terminated," "Inactive," and "In Progress" statuses, even if the counts are zero. However, other statuses such as "Removed" or "Initiated" will appear if a respondent is given this status and the count is greater than zero. For more information, see Understanding respondent statuses.
Survey stage
On the IntelliSurvey platform, surveys can be in one of five states: QA, Live, Soft Shutdown, Hard Shutdown, or Archived. By default, when a new survey is created, the survey stage is set to testing (QA stage). For more information on survey stages, see Survey stage.
Median time
The median time is the median length of interview (LOI) for all completes. It is the amount of time the respondent spends active in the survey, where the survey is the focused page in the respondent's web browser.
Incidence
Broadly speaking, incidence is the percentage of completes out of total, relevant interviews. Many surveys have irrelevant records that should be removed from consideration in calculating incidence (e.g., inactives, those still in progress, those removed for quality control purposes, etc.). Different users have different needs for who to include in the denominator of this calculation. Therefore, the incidence reported on the Status tile includes two calculations:
C/(C+T) – Completes/(Completes + Terminates)
C/(C+T+Q) – Completes/(Completes + Terminates + Over Quotas)
Hovering over the info box allows users to view the calculations written out:
The Survey Dashboard includes a separate Incidence tile, which includes additional incidence calculations and tools. See Incidence tile for more information.
Dev and Pub versions
Dev|Pub refers to the survey versions that are in development ("Dev") or published ("Pub") modes. The Status tile will display the latest version number for each mode. However, only users with source code editing capabilities that can access Dev versions of the survey will see this label. For more on Dev/Pub, see Dev and Pub mode.
On the HOME dashboard in Summary Tiles view
You can use your HOME page to create a comprehensive dashboard of all your projects. On your HOME page, switch from the default Survey Navigator to the Dashboard Summary Tiles view. Then, add a new survey tile to the main dashboard. Similar to the status tile found on the Survey Dashboard, you can place your cursor over any bar or button to see additional information.
