IntelliSurvey's default HOME page is known as the Survey Navigator, which features the Browse Surveys applet to view and search through the surveys you have access to. You can also view the HOME page as summary tiles by clicking on the Dashboard button. Both the Survey Navigator and the Dashboard with summary tiles can be accessed under the Survey section of the System Navigation menu.
For more information on survey tiles click here, and for more information on adding tiles to your dashboards, click here.
Tip! If you prefer to make the Dashboard with summary tiles your default HOME page, go to Preferences > General to change the HOME default page settings.
Survey Navigator fields
The Survey Navigator allows users to view and search a list of all surveys to which they have access. Surveys can be searched by keyword in the Quick search field, by filters in the various columns, or via survey source. To search for a survey by its ID (name), description, or other details, simply enter a search term in the Quick search text field found just above the navigator table.
The following fields can be displayed as columns on the Survey Navigator screen or used for searching purposes. Clicking on the column headers can control the order in which the surveys are listed. The order can be reversed by clicking on the column header a second time.
Heading | Is default? | Description |
---|---|---|
Pin |
If starred, the survey will be "pinned" and will always be displayed at the top of the survey list. Even if column sorting has been applied, the pinned surveys will be listed at the top of the column. The maximum number of pinned surveys is 50. After the limit has been reached, the user will be prompted to replace the oldest pinned survey. If a survey is pinned and was last updated outside of the current date range in the Last Updated filter, the survey ID will be italicized. To "unpin" a survey, either click on the star or use CTRL+click (PC)/⌘+click (Mac) on the star icon. |
|
Survey ID | The alphanumeric code associated with the survey which appears in the URL/live link. | |

|
Release | The software version number (e.g., 8) when the survey was most recently published. | |
Pub Version |
The survey version when the survey was most recently published (e.g., "12" indicates the 12th version of the survey was the most recently published version). If the survey has never been published, then there will be a '0' in this column. |
|
Dev Vers Δ | The number of survey versions that have been saved since the survey was last published. If the most current version of the survey was published, then a dash will be displayed in this column. | |

|
Accessed by Me |
The last date and time you accessed the survey. This column allows filter searches to be Before, After, or On a specific date. Selecting any of these filter options will cause a calendar to pop up that the user can then select a date as the search criteria. If you have never accessed the survey, then a dash will be displayed in this column. |
To add a non-default column to the Survey Navigator table, hover over the right corner of any of the columns' headers until the expand arrow appears. Click on the arrow, and select the Columns option from the menu. This will display a list of all available columns; those with checkmarks are currently being displayed. Simply click the checkbox or name of the column you wish to add, and it will be placed in the table.
Browse surveys
The Survey Navigator defaults to displaying surveys that have been active in the Last 30 Days and displays the Quick search field for keyword searching. Users can search through surveys they have permission to access by using these defaults, or by using the additional options found in the Filters dropdown menu and by adjusting the Last Updated timeframe in the dropdown menu. Users can alter the Last Updated filter to search by other timeframes (Last 90 Days, Beyond 90 Days, or All Dates) and include archived surveys. Meanwhile, the Filters menu allows users to deactivate the search via Quick Search and allows users to activate the search via Survey Source. All searches conducted with the Filters options can be cleared via the Reset option or within the filter itself.
The Last Updated filter options Last 30 Days and Last 90 Days are persistent. If either option was applied in your last use of the Survey Navigator, the applet will "remember" this selection and apply it the next time you open the applet. Users should note that by default, archived surveys are not included in these searches.
Quick Search
The Quick Search option is available and displayed above the top-left corner of the survey list table. The text field will allow users to search across any column, not just Survey ID or Description. To search the table, simply enter the desired text in the Quick Search text field.
To disable the filter, either delete the input from the text field or select Reset from the Filters dropdown button. The Quick Search text field can also be disabled by unchecking the box next to the Quick Search option under the Filters dropdown menu.
By column
This filter cannot be activated under the Filters dropdown button, but it will be checked if a column filter was applied. To apply the By Column filter, hover over the column with which you wish to apply a filter. A down arrow will appear. Click on it to display the menu and filter options. Hovering over the Filter option will bring up a text field to use for keyword searching of that column.
If a column filter has been applied, a funnel icon will appear next to the column on which it was applied. The column filter can be disabled by unchecking the Filter checkbox, clearing the filter text field, or by selecting Reset under the Filters dropdown menu.
Survey Source
The Survey Source filter allows users to search survey source code for keywords. This is extremely useful in situations where Survey Programmers (SPs) recall using a particular tag, widget, or line of code but cannot recall in which survey it was used.
You can search using either Source includes or Source excludes for the keyword(s), and you can also create multiple keyword searches to use simultaneously. The search filter is not case-sensitive; so searching for (e.g.) "rank" or "RANK" will yield the same results.
There is also a checkbox you can select to search only the latest versions. This is checked by default. Note that with the ability to have "Dev" (Development) and "Pub" (Published) versions of a survey, the dev version could potentially be the latest version of the survey instead of the published one. To search through all survey versions/iterations, deselect the box Search only latest versions.
Actions menu
Click on a survey name to activate the Actions menu. The Actions menu allows users to Open, Monitor, or Delete surveys.
Open
Selecting Open brings the user to that survey's Survey Dashboard screen. Surveys may also be opened by double clicking on the survey name.
Monitor
Selecting Monitor adds a tile to the HOME Dashboard for the selected survey. If a given survey already has a tile on the Dashboard, a notification will ask for confirmation to add a second tile.
Delete
Selecting Delete will delete the survey from the IntelliSurvey platform. A modal will appear to confirm this request. Note that once a survey is deleted, the deletion cannot be undone.
