The Field Management Summary applet is an overview of the survey's sampling metrics. This applet takes live survey data to create real-time, insightful metrics such as the number of Completes, incidence rate (IR), clean rate, and median LOI (length of interview), all in one comprehensive view.
To access the Field Summary applet, open the Field Management button group, and click Summary.
Overview
This will open the Field Summary applet's default page with an overview of the specific survey's metrics. The applet and its information are visible to all users. The top pane includes a Record Selector, which includes all respondent statuses by default. There are also fields for specifying IDs, ranges for date and time (based on the user's time zone), and the data cut filter. To the right, the '^' symbol can hide and unhide the Record Selector pane. Lastly, in the upper-right area of the screen, there is an Excel icon to export the grid when needed.
To generate an overview or to refresh the data with new filters, click the blue Apply button beneath the pane. Note the last data pull time stamp reflects the user's time zone.
Note: The fieldwork metrics take live survey data to generate the overview. However, the data on the page is not live, nor auto-updated. The page is static until reapplied, refreshed, or revisited.
Metrics table
Once any filters in the Record Selector have been applied, the grid will refresh with the latest data pull. The data in the table is non-modifiable and contains the following rows and columns.
Overall sample sources
- Cumulative Total - The metrics calculated considering the entire life span of the project.
- Δ Past 24 Hours (compared to prior) - The metrics calculated in the past 24 hours as compared to the Prior Total; this column reflects only the change from the prior and may be presented as a positive or negative number.
- Prior Total (excludes past 24 hours) - The metrics calculated considering all cumulative data except for the metrics presented in the Δ Past 24 Hours.
Metrics
For descriptions on the various statuses used in these metrics, see Understanding respondent statuses.
Row label | Definition |
---|---|
All Entries | This is the count of all statuses. |
Completed (C) | The status = C. |
Overquota (Q) | The status = Q. |
Terminated (T) | The status = T. |
Quality Clean (QC) Removals | The status is one of X, F, J, or B. |
Non Quality-Related Removals | The status = R. |
Incidence Rate = C/(C + T) |
When referencing the cumulative total, this should reflect the same calculation from the Incidence tile. Otherwise, this is calculated as all Completes/(Completes + Terminated). |
Incidence Rate w/ Overquotas = C/(C + T + Q) | When referencing the cumulative total, this should reflect the same calculation from the incidence tile. Otherwise, this is calculated as all Completes/(Completes + Terminated + Overquotas). |
Quality Clean Rate = QC/(C + QC) | Any of status (X, F, J, or B)/(Completes + status X, F, J, or B). |
Median LOI in minutes | When referencing the cumulative total, this median LOI from the status on the survey dash. Otherwise, this is the median LOI for the time frame specified. |
Past 24 hours metrics
In this table found directly beneath the Metrics table, the most essential data for daily updates to clients and vendors is available – IR calculations, Quality Clean Rate, and Median LOI. The definitions for these rows are the same as above.
It is important to highlight the difference between the Δ Past 24 Hours data column and the table presented independently. The Δ Past 24 Hours data reflects the change, positive or negative, compared to the prior total. If the current 24 hour window has a 25% IR for Completes and Terms, and the prior total was 30% IR, then the Δ Past 24 Hours is -5% (negative five percent). However, the Past 24 Hours table will reflect the absolute number, 25% IR.
Exporting Excel
You can export the metrics displayed on the screen at any time. If a filter has been applied, the filtered data will be exported. Simply click the Excel icon in the upper right-hand corner.
